Our motto around the farm is “beegracious” in all we do, thus becoming our Trademark. On the farm, you will find us restoring the old paths, gardens & habitat for the birds, bees & butterflies. Native blooms around the hillside and meadows provide peace, harmony & food for the honeybees in the Apiary, the birds in the Sanctuary and the butterflies in the Gardens.

Around the 17th century, the Windsor Family and the honeybee came from England to find peace & harmony in the new world. My Great Grandfather & my Grandfather was Apiarist on the family farm. They also had a special love for the birds, especially purple martins, bluebirds & songbirds. It is our privilege to lift a standard & carry on their torch providing for God’s little creatures.

One common thread throughout the generations is the love of wood crafting. The family home, the barn & the old grainery were hand built by the hands of my Grandfather, one board, one brick at a time using only a hammer, a handsaw, a level and a square. The structure of the grainery  still the same with even with some grain still in the cracks. With the addition of a bathroom &  modern woodworking equipment, my Grandfather would say “it surely is a new generation”.

Our first woodcraft was the butterfly house. Painted in whimsical colors, people of all ages fell in love with this garden accent. Functional & decorative, this house became a real conversation piece. We developed a large local following that led to tourist passing through to seek us out. (YES that was US in the white truck along US HWY 421) Soon gift shops, garden shops, online shops, catalogs & magazines across America started calling. Our quality craftsmanship led to request for birdhouses & bird feeders thus the trend continues. Fair price, friendly customer service, unique designs keep people coming back.

DESIGN

Functional is our first thought when designing birdhouses, bird feeders & butterfly houses. The comfort & safety of the birds & butterflies comes first. Many species travel great distances to live & raise their family here in America. It is our duty to give them the best home possible. It is a real testimony when the native birds choose to live in one of our houses year round. The birds are the first to tell us we got the design right ~ they conduct a through inspection, move right in & sing songs of praise & thanksgiving. The butterflies, on the other hand choose to go into a butterfly house through  a crevice that mimic their natural habitat. They will surely dance in our very own presence.

Decorative is our second thought in our design process. This is the most fun, creative part. Each of our family members is blessed with a creative mind. We incorporate many different designs, styles, colors to instill a WOW factor once the house or feeder is completed. This factor is fully realized when the birds & butterflies call your sanctuary home. We create something for everyone’s appeal, whether you are erecting a bird sanctuary on a farm, in a yard or garden or adding to a deck or porch.

MATERIALS

A birdhouse, bird feeder or butterfly house is only as good as the materials used. We strive to use wood sources native to us, searching out trees that are downed by natural causes, many from our own forest on our farm. This is our way of recycling, repurposing & saving the environment. Our commitment to the birds involves using REAL wood, NO plywood & NO fake wood, NO vinyl as the fake wood & vinyl heats up at 80 degrees & above thus the birds abscond leaving the eggs behind. Beyond words SAD! We choose to leave the inside of the house natural, as close to nature and mimicking their natural habitat they have been accustomed to. Our commitment to you, promises THICK wood pieces from various wood types, cypress, cedar, pine, poplar & oak. Products that withstand the elements of the outdoors are a main concern. You can invest in your garden landscape & restore habitat with utmost confidence.

FABRICATION

We use several methods of fabrication to insure quality craftsmanship ~ screws, nails, staples, exterior adhesives to extend the life of each house & feeder. Withstanding the outdoor elements is most important when determining the construction process. Most of these processes are internal with the exception being the external screws to easily open the houses for cleaning.

PAINT / STAIN

All our paint & stains are industrial grade, formulated for the outdoors, non toxic, acrylic latex. We apply boil linseed oil to our stain houses, wooden shake roofs & feeders to deter water & insects.

We offer many colors to appeal to you & your garden color scheme. While the birds don’t care about the color, we know how much color means to you & the butterflies. The latest trends, from traditional to contemporary to whimsical will always be included in our product lineup.

SHINGLES

We build our own shake shingles. Designing them big & thick, gluing & nailing each one to a thick solid piece of wood insures the sun will not roll them up. These shake shingles are beautiful, long lasting plus makes a beautiful overhang to the house. We add boil linseed oil to deter water & bugs. We are proud of our very own design. You will be too. This special touch is a must have for a rustic cabin, mountain home or for the person that loves nature & natural wood.

COPPER

When prestige matters, we offer REAL copper. Real copper will patina to an old world effect. Of course, that is exactly what most people love about copper. Age is complimentary to copper. As you know us pretty well by now, birds comfort & safety is our first concern, so we add thick wood pieces underneath the copper to insulate the copper roof from excessive heat from the sun always thinking of the birds & eggs first.
