Will you help RESTORE habitat for the sweet Purple Martins?
The purple martin family migrates from South America up through North America calling North America the perfect home to raise a family.
They come approximately 11 to a family. This is the perfect large house made of thick, solid wood pieces for optimal insulation. Be careful choosing fake wood, vinyl or solid tin ~ these materials heat up cooking the eggs. Birds will lay eggs, then abscond from the house when temperatures rise above 80 degrees SAD! Housing is so critical for these birds because of the massive amounts of forest destruction by means of natural causes and construction in their fly zones which is from south all the way up north in USA. Once you get a family of Martin’s, the same family returns year after year.
Do you enjoy the outdoors? These birds eat 2,000 flying insects per day per bird. These birds give you a pesticide free environment. These are the sweetest among bird families. When you go out bird watching they don’t fly away. They will come to recognize you as their friend. It has been said that bird watching is a #1 adult hobby in the USA. People have literally reduced their stress level by bird watching.
If you prefer a large focal point in your garden without drawing Purple Martins, then place this house on a 6 foot post and invite the Finches. They love to live together. At our house, we love the Yellow Finches. They raise their young in the early fall after seeds have matured. Many finches live year around, how ever, many people think they leave during winter months, simply because they change from brilliant yellow to brown then back to yellow in spring ~ Amazing!
Will you invest in restoring habitat in your yard or garden today? The birds will surely sing songs of praise & thanksgiving everyday!
